PA LIONS HEARING RESEARCH FOUNDATION

This Foundation exists to initiate and support research in PA on hearing problems from embryonic through adult. Special emphasis is placed on research to prevent youth deafness and hearing problems.

WESTMORELAND COUNTY DEAF SERVICES

Westmoreland HDS was established in 1982. It offers a variety of services designed to meet the needs of deaf and hard of hearing populations, provides information about deafness to the community and helps organizations and agencies make programs accessible to people with hearing deficiencies.

WESTMORELAND COUNTY BLIND ASSOCIATION

The mission of WCBA is to improve the quality of life of the blind and visually impaired, and to assist in the prevention of blindness. WCBA offers services that enhance the independence of visually impaired individuals, and educate the community about eye disease and damage prevention and detection.

LIONS OF PA FOUNDATION

This public non-profit was incorporated as the 501c3 charitable arm of the PA Lions. The mission of the Foundation is to assist those afflicted with sensory impairments in vision and hearing by working with local Lions Clubs in responding community and regional needs.

LIONS CLUB INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION (LCIF)

​LCIF supports the humanitarian work of Lions Clubs and aids Lions in making a greater impact in their local communities and around the world. Tax-deductible donations can be made to LCIF online in categories like Humanitarian, Sight, Disaster, and In Honor/In Memory.

LEADER DOGS FOR THE BLIND

Located in Michigan and founded by Detroit area Lions Clubs in 1939, Leader Dogs provides guide-dogs to people who are blind and visually impaired to enhance their mobility, independence, and quality of life.

W. PA LIONS HEARING RESEARCH FOUNDATION

This Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping the deaf and hearing impaired by providing funds for research, surgery and hearing aids for those individuals who can benefit.

PA LIONS EYE RESEARCH and SIGHT CONSERVATION

This Foundation and Lions of PA have made major contributions to Wills Eye Hospital (Philadelphia), PA Lions Laser Center at the Eye & Ear Institute (Pittsburgh), PA Lions Low Vision and Research Center (Hershey), the Center for Molecular Ophthalmology at the University of Pennsylvania, and much more.

DISASTER RELIEF

Funds that allow Lions from District 14-E to travel in the Care-A-Van to locations where disasters have occurred to bring supplies, help clean up or rebuild.

DIABETES RESEARCH

District 14-E supports local Diabetes Research and Education programs in conjunction with UPMC McKeesport Hospital.

PA LIONS BEACON LODGE CAMP

A beautiful 583-acre camp for people with special needs, nestled in the woods along the Juniata River near Mount Union. Established in 1948 as a summer camp for blind residents, it is a favorite retreat for many people with disabilities as well as a conference center, an educational facility, and a rental camp.
