Happy Spring Fellow Lions, Where did the time go?
As our 20/21 Lions year is winding down, I want to remind you of a few upcoming events. We are having our 4th Cabinet Meeting and Spring Social taking place on April 17th , at the Lamplighter Restaurant in Delmont. Please get your reservations in to ZC Amy Thompkins as soon as possible. I am still hoping to hold a Christmas in July picnic…more details to come on that.
I am hoping to see all of you and your clubs out and about since the weather is getting warmer. Outdoor projects and fundraisers can be planned for completion. Try partnering up with another club, or another organization in your community, try something new, get involved, and BE SEEN!! I would like to see everyone doing what Lions are to be doing…Serving those in need in our communities.
Some important reminders. Make sure your clubs have your officer elections and that your officer information is entered into the LCI website by completing your PU101’s. These must be entered prior to May 15th. It is very important that this information is entered timely so 1VDG Margie can complete her Directory with accurate information including name, address, phone number, email address, club meeting place & club meeting time. I know there were some membership chair and service chair positions open this year, let’s strive to get these all filled for the upcoming year. Clubs, also remember to send in your District Project Donations as they are due to District Treasurer, PDG Bob Mesher by May 1st!!
There are still Zone Chair positions that need filled. If you are looking to become more involved with Lions, this is a great opportunity. If you are not sure, you can shadow a current Zone Chair to see if you think this is a good fit for you. This will enable you to learn and participate at the District level in addition to meeting Lions from other clubs, going new places, and also meeting Lions from other Districts, you will make long lasting friendships!
Just to recap on the District Bowling Tournament. We all were able to get out, get together and have some fun!! Although there were only a few of us, the day was a success. We were able to see faces that were familiar and got to know new faces. The food was good, and the fellowship was unmatchable. Hats off to Lions Alice & John Heasley on a job well done!!
Remember, we are all Lions for a reason…to serve and give back to our communities and those in need. Keep up the phone calls to those in your clubs—a friendly call will do a lot to boost someone’s spirits. Keep up the ‘drive through’ fundraisers—whether it be a breakfast or a chicken BBQ, or a food drive, or even try a new activity! Remember, where there is a need there is always a Lion waiting to help!! Keep up the great work!!
Yours In Service,
