Dear Fellow Lions:
Happy New Year to you. I hope 2021 is happy and healthy for all of you.
With the arrival of the new year, it is time to think about nominations for club officers for your clubs. Also, perhaps some of your new members would like to be on the Board and contribute ideas and infuse energy for the functioning of your clubs. They may have new and creative fundraising suggestions and know of more ways to serve.
As you know, there is a big emphasis (North American Membership Initiative) on getting new members for the Lions. What would you suggest to get the Lions' motto and message to the public? Perhaps, when a new business moves into your area, a club member could go and introduce themselves and generate interest in Lionism and serving the area. If your community has a "community day" or programs for its citizens, Farmers Markets, Senior Centers, etc., have a club member speak to the organization about the LIons Club and indicate that they can do something worthwhile for the community. I am sure you have other ideas and initiatives to promote your organization. If you have a "new neighbors" club or have contact with a real estate agent, check with them to see who is new to the neighborhood. It is a great way for the new people to make friends and, at the same time, feel good about doing something for the community. Please share what has been successful for your club. Always have a couple of membership applications with you in case you need them.
It is also time to focus on designating the donations from your club. In addition to the regular agencies to which you contribute, there are so many needs this year because of the pandemic and its resulting impacts, that there is no shortage of organizations which need your help.
As you can see, it is a busy agenda that we have for this coming year. If you need any assistance with your programs, please give me a call. I will be more than happy to help you.
Happy Valentine's Day.
Yours in Lionism,
