Thank you very much for your support and allowing me to serve District 14-E as your District Governor for the 2014-2015 Lions year. Our District has done so much for myself and for my family over the years, that I look forward to giving everything I can to make sure our clubs have a successful year.
As an avid music listener, who has quite an elective taste in artists and styles, my theme for this year is “Keeping in Tune with Lionism.” My District pin resembles my Ipod, which I use constantly, listening to my favorite tunes. As Lions, we must also be willing and able to listen to what our members, our communities, and our hearts are telling us, when it comes to areas of opportunity to serve the less fortunate. Along with the help of our two Vice District Governors and our Immediate Past District Governor, we will be sure to listen to the clubs in our District, address any issues that may arise, and be ready to serve our clubs in every possible way that we can.
Our International President Joe Preston’s theme for this year is “Strengthen the Pride.” I am certain the clubs and members of District 14-E will continue to do all that they can to “strengthen the pride,” of their clubs and our district, as well as the pride that comes with helping those in need. There is no greater feeling in the world. And I know that if we all take the time to continue to look and listen for new opportunities to serve, not only will our pride be strengthened, but so too will our excellent District.
I look forward to this upcoming year, as well as the opportunity to personally visit with your club and its members. I would like to thank the Rostraver Township Lions Club, my family, and the membership of District 14-E for their continued support through the years. You have touched me our lives in so many ways, made us always feel welcome (even with my little ones carrying on in the background), and given us the opportunity of a lifetime to serve as your District Governor and go on this incredible journey with you. For that, we are forever in your debt.
I pledge to do my very best to serve our clubs in any way that I can, so that we can continue to serve those less fortunate in our communities. Thank you again for this honor, and I look forward to sitting down and discussing ways that our District can serve you, so that you can serve others.
Yours in Lionism, Jason M. Mesher, DG 2014-2015
